Our Practices

Our
Ethics
At Meadow Collective, our ethics are grounded in transparency, fairness, and respect for both people and the environment. We believe that everyone within the fashion supply chain—from farmers to designers—should be recognised, valued, and fairly compensated for their work. By fostering direct and collaborative relationships, we aim to redistribute power more equitably across the system, moving away from extractive models toward ones built on trust and mutual benefit. We are committed to honesty in how materials are sourced and communicated, ensuring that both designers and their customers can feel confident in the integrity behind every fibre.
Our
Sustainability & Circularity Practices
Our approach to sustainability begins with regenerative agriculture, supporting fibres that actively restore soil health, biodiversity, and natural ecosystems. Beyond sourcing, we embrace circular design principles by encouraging thoughtful material use, reducing waste through demand pooling, and prioritising durability and longevity in the fibres we offer by teaching designers how to design for the future of their products while utilising these precious regenerative fibres. Meadow Collective is designed to evolve into a fully circular system, where materials are not only responsibly sourced but also considered at their end of life. Through future initiatives such as take-back programs and fibre recycling, we aim to ensure that materials remain in continuous use or are safely returned to the earth, reducing reliance on virgin resources and minimising waste.
How We Select Farmers
We take a considered and rigorous approach to selecting the farmers we work with, ensuring alignment with our regenerative and ethical values. Each producer is assessed based on their farming practices, including soil management, biodiversity support, water stewardship, and animal welfare where applicable. We also consider their commitment to transparency, traceability, and continuous improvement, recognising that regenerative agriculture is an ongoing journey rather than a fixed standard. By building close relationships with our farmers and supporting them through this transition, we ensure that every material offered through Meadow Collective is not only high quality, but also contributes meaningfully to environmental restoration and a more responsible fashion system.
If you are a farmer and interested in coming on board with Meadow Collective as a regenerative natural fibre farmer, you can find out more about how Meadow Collective operates here, or apply to be considered to join our network through our Farmer Portal here.
